Wish I’d done research first and seen all the times Jason Erdmann of Janesville (the owner of Badgerland movers) & his business have been taken to court by his customers, and their abysmal rating by Better Business Bureau. I was told when I booked the appointment that all the moving materials would be provided (they weren’t), and we agreed I needed a 10x10 truck. I told him exactly what the move would entail, what would be moved, and that it was 4 locations (a mattress from the 1st house, a safe from the 2nd to be delivered to the 3rd, and a storage locker to another storage locker). They brought a truck 3 times larger than discussed, had me sign paperwork agreeing to pay for a minimum of 2 hours. Knowing it would take less than 2 hours I wasn’t worried about going over, but he’d sent 4 men instead of the 3 we agreed upon so I figured I’d pay extra for that. The 2nd location, 10 minutes away from the 1st, was where they were to pick up a safe. We waited an hour at the 2nd location before I called to see where they were. No answer, I left a voicemail asking to be called back. 15 minutes later I called again, no answer, so I called the owner, who also didn’t answer. I left a voicemail for the owner saying it had been over an hour and I was unable to reach them, and to please call back. Another 15 minutes goes by. I thought of contacting police to ask if there’d been an accident involving a 30 ft moving van, but decided to try calling once more. This time he answered, informed me that they’d traveled 4 blocks before being pulled over and learning he wasn’t licensed to drive a vehicle that big [something they should know before starting the job, especially when they knew I needed something 1/3 the size]. He’d sat there for over an hour without notifying me. I asked him what the plan was, and if he thought it would be another hour before they’d arrive. This seemed to make him angry and he said that it wouldn’t take over an hour, but he’d have to drive to Janesville, pick up a smaller truck and drive back. That would take 3 hours. When I pointed that out, he said the owner might come and take over driving the vehicle and that he’d been talking to him, which surprised me since the owner never returned my call. Since this guy sounded scattered and confused, I told him I’d ask the owner. He said no, I couldn’t call the owner because he’s busy. He could talk to him but not me? He then told me that I wouldn’t be charged for the time we’d been sitting there waiting. They finally arrived after 3 hours, with the same guy driving the same truck. Not sure if they’d lied to me or if they’d chosen to break the law, but whatever. My friend had gotten sick of waiting and returned to work, so we had to skip the 2nd & 3rd part of the move and go straight to the last location, to switch the storage lockers. He then told me that they’d decided not to charge me for the 4th man to make up for my inconvenience (great. I didn’t agree to or need a 4th man). He told me they had to stop to get gas, also something that reputable moving companies take care of before starting the job. I waited at the storage locker for 45 minutes before calling to see what the delay was, he said he couldn’t find a station with diesel. When they finished with the storage lockers, it had been an hour of work, including drive time. With the sitting around time and getting gas time, it was over 5 hours. Then they got back in the truck and I waited an additional 20 minutes while they figured out what to charge me. I expected at most they’d charge for the 3 men/2hours that owner Jason Erdmann and I had agreed to, and probably less because of wasting so much of our time and not even doing the bulk of the job, but they but he came back with a figure that was astronomical. I told them that since I’d have to hire other movers to finish the job they’d failed to do, I’d pay the minimum we agreed to and no more. This was generous, considering I could have rented a Uhaul and given 2 friends $100 each to do what they did, which would have saved me $400 and hours of wasted time.

I hired Jason and his team to move two pianos for my music academy. Communication was excellent, they were upfront with their pricing which was fair for the services they provided, and they moved the pianos quickly and carefully to avoid damages. I definitely recommend Badgerland Movers for your piano moving needs.

It's always great to have a real person answer the phone when I call for services. Badgerland Movers picked up the phone on the second ring and clearly answered all of my questions. The previous two businesses didn't bother to answer the phone, so they lost my business automatically. Seth and Owen from Badgerland came to my house on time and worked nonstop. They moved furniture and boxes upstairs, downstairs and out of the garage. I offered them a break and they declined and asked what was next. They both had friendly, accommodating personalities and were willing to help me carry furniture and household items wherever needed. They were challenged by a fragile antique kitchenette with glass that hadn't been moved for years. They figured out the best way to maneuver it upstairs without any problem. I recommend Seth and Owen to everyone. They were efficient and pleasant to work with.

House was damaged in 4 or 5 spots. Was told they could move a massage chair but showed up with zero tools and had to use mine. Just to leave the massage chair not put together. Then proceeded to charge us 600$ to move 2 couches took the long way to the destination so they could bill us more. Wouldn't recommend use someone else.

STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!! I used them for my move 4/1/21 after being quoted half the price of 2 men and a truck I have used twice previously. We originally agreed on 2 guys and 1 moving truck for my move at $145 per hour, when they showed up for my move it was 3 guys and 1 truck for an additional $72 an hour. I immediately expressed my concern about the jump in price but the owner assured me the move would go quicker with 3 guys and I would end up paying less at the end. The 3 guys took 4 hours to load my 2 bedroom apartment into the truck which is double the amount of time 2 Men and a Truck took previously on my last 2 moves! During the unloading at my new house there were a couple things we noticed were broken because of a poorly packed truck. Right away I expressed my concern over my new $500 office chair being booked because I work from home and I just purchased this chair. The 3 guys moving me assured me their boss would take care of it and will let me know what he says. After the unloading of the truck I was ASTONISHED to see a $1,305 moving bill! The guy who showed me the bill even said that seems too expressive and went to go talk to his co-workers to figure it out. They came back with a $1,341 bill! I immediately got on the phone with the owner expressing my concern over the bill and he said there is nothing he can do about it. This is the same owner who laughed when I originally told him over the phone 2 Men and a Truck wanted to charge me $1,200 for my move! He even stated if I keep his guys there any longer he will start charging me for their next job! To avoid the 3.5% credit card fee I paid with cash, luckily the guys don’t carry cash on the truck and I got a $41 discount and ONLY paid $1,300... I asked how he was going to fix my broken office chair and he stated the guys moving me will take pictures of the chair and bring him the broken piece, he will order the piece and drop it off at my house. I have called , text and even emailed him over the last 2 weeks with no response! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, I have already reported to the BBB and awaiting on a response. I will update this post when I hear back.
