I made an appointment for Dr. Tom to see my mother for a crown. She already had several implants and since this tooth was near one of the implants, she wanted a good match. Dr. Tom was one of the few prosthodontists on her Aetna dental insurance plan. After waiting 2 months for an appointment, this office canceled on the same day of the appointment because she has a pacemaker and takes eliquis. If the office didn't want patients who took eliquis and/or had a pacemaker they should have stated that initially and not made an appointment. We would have found someone else. Instead, they made us waste two months waiting for an appointment they had no intention of keeping. This is unethical. Their patient intake forms are electronic and ridiculously extensive and very time consuming to fill out. In all likelihood this office will cancel anyone who has a medical history or who takes any pharmaceutical drugs that they determine might be some risk to them. I have never encountered such a practice. They stated they always need to call the primary doctor to get medical clearance when a patient takes eliquis. But they never did so. Further, a crown does not involve any surgery. Then they decided they would cancel the appointment. On the same day of the appointment. Perhaps they were sued once because I have never seen this type of conduct before in a dental office. My mother had a root cancal within the last several months and encountered no such problem with her endodontist or her periodontist. Beware.

Dr.Tom is a brilliant doctor. I was in excruciating pain when I first came to see him and he’s been amazing ever since. That was 20 years ago and he the only dentist I would ever see!

Dr. Tom helped me on several occasions while I was visiting from out of state. I was going through a complicated total reconstruction. It seemed that every time I got to LA something needed tweaking with my temporaries etc. I was referred to Dr. Tom by my dentist. He couldn’t have been more accommodating. Always found room for me. I would recommend Dr Tom to anyone facing implants and reconstruction. Stellar!

My experience for the past 14 years with Dr. Nemec and Dr. Tom has always been positive and I have had many procedures with both. They are caring, compassionate and very skilled experts in their field. I would have have recommended them to friends and family.
