We used a broker and the broker actually hired this company. When the movers got to our house they were extremely nice. But they had their 13-year-old child with them helping them move our stuff. (I understand it's summer and the kid is bored and wanted to help but this is our whole life they're moving and i feel a 13 year should not have
been responsible for our stuff .) The driver did discuss with us there was a possibility of us having to pay more but it all depended on how much was in the truck. We ended up paying almost $800 more than what we were quoted and I had to leave half my stuff on the side of the road. Or they would have charged us more. (We gave an accurate detail of everything we had when we did our estimate and still had to pay more money paid )When it what's time to pay this company they would not use a credit card at all they would only use PayPal venmo cashier's check we were told by our broker they would take a credit card . This company would not take a credit card. We had to figure out how we were going to pay these people. We paid for for next day delivery and when it was about 3pm the next day I called the driver and I was told it's going to be 3 days later due to the company calling the driver and telling him that he could take off for July 4th. We paid $500 for next day delivery and they never showed up. I called my broker and they were able to get them to do it the next day. We were never refunded for that money at all. So we pay for service we didn't get. When the stuff got here we had multiple things broken and our floors were scratched.

I must say, we hired MAP Moving and Storage before reading their reviews. I believe we were connected with them through a broker. After reading their reviews, I was having major regrets about hiring this company. However, they did not disappoint.
They were supposed to arrive to pack up our stuff on Friday or Saturday, according to the Bill of Lading. They didn't show up until Sunday morning, which is why I'm only giving them 4 stars.
When they finally arrived, Jermaine and his crew were professional and friendly. They disassembled and wrapped all of our big furniture pieces in moving blankets. The wrapped and boxed up some mirrors, too. They labeled and inventoried everything with clear descriptions. They didn't bang up the walls or damage anything. The whole process only took about 2 hours, and they didn't try to jack up the price, as some others have complained about.
As for delivery of items... they say it takes 3 to 10 days for delivery. They arrived on day 10 after I called to check up on them the day before. But they did arrive within the scheduled time, so there's that.
They expect payment up front upon arrival before they deliver, FYI. We paid cash.
Unloading went faster than loading. The delivery crew was great. They brought everything in carefully. No damaged walls or scratched floors. They had all of our items inside the house and furniture reassembled in an hour and a half. None of our furniture was damaged. The mirrors arrived in perfect condition. They were clean, professional, and friendly.
Overall, we had a good experience with MAP Moving and Storage. I'm surprised by all the negative reviews after working with them personally. Thanks

Never use this company. My stuff was practically destroyed and they scammed me out of so much money. Kept my stuff hostage on delivery until I got a money order from the post office even though they accepted a money order from Walmart on pickup so I ended up having to pay an extra 2500$ to get my stuff from them. When I did get it back it was basically destroyed. Would never recommend this company to anyone.

Potential customers beware: learn from my experience and do NOT hire MAP Moving and Storage for any of their services. I hired Swift Shift Van Lines to move my 1-bedroom apartment from Missouri to Maryland, and they sold my move to MAP without my consent. The MAP movers were purposefully 48 hours late to pick up my items so that they could charge me exorbitant fees that amounted to over 2K over the quoted price while I was traveling for work. They held my stuff for ransom while I was on a plane to California and threatened to dump it on the side of the road if I did not wire them the money within 10 minutes. When I told the agent that she was extorting me, she replied “no one is holding a gun to your head.” The customer service manager, April, is a rare combination of malicious and idiotic. No doubt she is employed at MAP because any legitimate form of employment is well beyond her capabilities. She embodies everything this company stands for: dishonestly, unprofessionalism, and laziness. MAP was over two weeks late with my stuff, leaving me no other recourse but to start school sleeping on an air mattress and eating frozen food. Most of my furniture was broken on arrival, and many of the boxes were stained with a strange liquid. If I could go back in time, I would have rented a U-haul and moved the stuff myself. Save yourself WEEKS of dealing with April and her delightful brand of “customer service” and do NOT hire this company.

This company is the worst if I could give a 0 I would. I paid about 4k for my whole move because they added on another 650$ for packing up 2 sheets of glass and 2 tvs I didn't have packed and thankfully they weren't broken. However almost half of everything else was broken my shelfs, desk, various items in my boxes since the boxes were crushed it feels like my stuff was treated poorly and thrown around. When I tried to make a insurance claim I was offered 60$ for hundreds of dollars worth of damage and was gaslight into it being my fault for not buying their better protection and that the material of my items were cheap an prone to breaking... like what? No one expects their stuff to be broken on a move. I would never recommend them to anyone.
